Smudge Visiting

We had a visitor yesterday! Britt had to go into London and asked us to look after Smudge. That was a great idea. We picked him up at noon and went for a nice walk at Shotover. Chasing, exploring, playing - you name it. It was fun! Afterwards I showed Smudge round at our place and we had a nice afternoon nap. The boys were behaving exemplary. Time flied and finally we enjoyed ourselves in South Park before Smudge had to go home. I admit that it was not easy for me to share my people's attention with another dog for several hours, but I'm very much looking forward to Smudge's next visit anyway.

Magdalen Bridge

I think it's time to show you around Oxford a bit. In the first picture you can see Magdalen Bridge which is on our way into the city centre. The tower in the background belongs to Magdalen College. Standing on the bridge you can see funny flat boats called punts. My people promised to take me punting in the summer. I'm not completely convinced that's a good idea though.

Christ Church Meadow

Christ Church Meadow
is one of my favourite spots in Oxford. It's very nice to go there for a walk and chase some birds. I don't dare take on the swans though. At the moment flowers sprout everywhere so I'm looking forward to our first picnic of the year. By the way: You can enlarge the pictures on my blog by clicking on them.

Another Fancy Sock

This morning I had my paw checked again. It's healing well, nevertheless I got another fancy sock. Never mind! On Saturday I will be alive and kicking again. Which sock do you like best? The old blue-yellow or the new green-yellow one?

Walk to the Perch

On Saturday we went for a nice walk to the Perch at Port Meadow. Carola and Jill joined us and it was very nice to see them again. My people put me on the lead all the time because of my injured paw though. In my opinion they're overprotective.

Cool Sock

Don't worry. I'm fine, but when we came home from our afternoon walk today, one of my paws was bleeding rather heavily. It didn't hurt at all, but we didn't know what exactly happened and played it safe. Jenny, our vet in Oxford, comes from the Netherlands and she is very nice. Nevertheless, I don't particularly like treatments. There was a big cut in my paw though so I had to clench my teeth. In the end I did pretty well and now I'm wearing a cool sock!

First Flowers

It's very nice and warm in Oxford at the moment and we're rejoicing in the first flowers of the year.

AC/DC

On Sunday Gunnar went to the AC/DC concert in Dortmund accompanied by his friends Mark and Till. The lads had a great time together and enjoyed very much being rockers again. Besides, Saturday was a very special day as well because Sandra and Till's third child, Stella Nike, was born. We congratulate the Gottstein family on their new member :-) !!!

Woodstock and Blenheim Palace

Yippieh! We went on another journey of exploration. This time our destination was Blenheim Palace in Woodstock. In the beginning the sun was shining, but later on it became quite windy and rainy. Never mind! The landscape was fantastic and we had a great time.

Football Crazy

I think it's common knowledge that Gunnar is football crazy. Today he went to London to watch his first live game since we moved back to England. West Ham United played against Manchester City and won 1:0. Gunnar enjoyed himself and told us everything about the special atmosphere in the stadium and pubs ...
