Short Break in the Cotswolds
Last week we went for a short break to the Cotswolds accompanied by Mark, Constanze and their daughter Sophia from Germany. The cottage we had rented was very nice and we were very lucky with the weather. Lots of sunshine which meant that we spent most of our time outside: walks, barbeque, games, visits to pretty villages and cosy pubs, chatting in the garden. In short, we had a great time with our friends!

The Wanderers

Our little travelling circus will move to the Netherlands (probably) in September. Saying goodbye to Oxford won't be easy, but it's the right decision. Margriet was offered a great job at the Behavioural Science Institute (Learning and Plasticity) in Nijmegen. We're looking forward to it and will keep you informed about our progress.

Paris

Margriet went to Paris last weekend to visit a friend from school (Daphne). Another friend from the Netherlands (Tessa) also joined them. They seemed to have had a great time although I think there was too much talking and drinking coffee for my liking. Good thing I was having a great 'boys weekend' with Gunnar in Oxford. I liked the pictures though, especially the ones of the strange coloured animals in a fountain ... apparently they moved as well ... I would quite like to see them from close by.

Hinton Open Trial and Tusmore Park

Today we went to see the Hinton Open Trial. This is a working trial organised by my school. At first, I didn't realise we were there just to watch and thought I had to do all kind of complicated things. I was all excited, but eventually quite glad when I could just watch the older dogs. After all, I have only been going to this new school since January.
After watching the trial we went for a great walk in Tusmore Park. Lots of space to run around and interesting things to see as well, like people on horses who opened gates without getting off their horse - very clever! We also saw Tusmore House ... a very posh house that was originally built in 1770, but had to be rebuilt twice because of fires. This was just what I needed after the excitement of this morning.

Oxford Canal

It's time for more pictures and information about Oxford. Going for a walk alongside Oxford Canal is very nice. You'll find loads of birds on the water and banks, romantic paths and people who actually live on curious boats. This is a great place to explore and relax.
University Church of St Mary the Virgin

From University Church of St Mary the Virgin's tower you've got an amazing view of 'Oxford's college world'.
High Street

On High Street you can find nice shops, modern companies and traditional colleges side by side. A very nice and exciting mixture of the old and new.
